Set in the popular tourist town of Matlock Bath, we have everything the discerning bride needs; candy, motorbikes, ice cream, arcades, and fish & chips. The only thing missing here is the sea… Matlock Bath, or “little Switzerland” as its nickname suggests truly is a unique landlocked seaside town.

If you’re looking for an unconventional location that has bags of character, is conveniently located just 20 mins from the M1, has lots for your guests to see and do, is picturesque and bustling then Matlock Bath is for you.
Our venue, dates back to the early 1800’s where it was originally the stables for the neighbouring Hotel. Early bus tours or “Charabancs” used to operate from here to Chatsworth and on to Dovedale. In the early 1920’s it was converted to a Hotel and watering hole.

Today The Fishpond has undergone a multi million pound investment and features a fantastic bar with real ales, good food, a fabulous garden, and multiple function rooms with live entertainment at its heart.
The Fishpond itself has everything a bride and groom could possibly need. From the moment you enter this cosy pub you are welcomed by the friendly team, who ensure the venue is always offering something for everyone. It’s ideally set up for weddings too with its 200 capacity ballroom with original vaulted ceiling and self contained bar. A beautiful beamed Restaurant with cosy and relaxed decor, the ideal location for intimate dining or the ceremony, and a stunning multi tiered garden to the rear with a hot spring waterfall, sun terrace and outside bar.

Working with you
We understand that organising a wedding can be time consuming which is why we’ve made it as straightforward as possible. Our dedicated Events Coordinator will work closely with you to ensure that everything comes together on the day as you had envisaged.
We appreciate that you need flexibility when creating your dream wedding and we believe that our honest upfront pricing offers something unique. We don’t prescribe you set packages, giving you the freedom to select the elements you want, and leave the ones you don’t.
